What is your safety record and how long have you been teaching skydiving?

No other Pennsylvania Drop Zone has a better safety record than Skydive Happy Valley and we’ve been teaching skydiving since 2001.

What's it like to skydive?

You can check out this video to see what other tandem students say about their experience..

What can I expect in the air?

You can expect a safe and smooth ride in the airplane up to 10,000 feet. Once the Jump Master is ready, the door will open and you will get into position. The exit from the plane is like the sensation of flying. You will free-fall for about 35 seconds. Then, the parachute will open and you will float for another 4 - 5 minutes. Your landing back on earth will be smooth and safe. The adventure will likely stay with you for the rest of your life, especially if you have video taken for all to see.

How long should I plan on being at the Drop Zone?

Please plan to spend the entire day at the Drop Zone. Depending on how many jumpers are skydiving that day, your wait can be several hours in length. The Jump Master can give you a good idea of how long it will be until you're up in the sky, so you can always get some lunch at one of the local eateries.

The important thing is to allot yourself and your party most of the day for this exiciting activity. It's interesting to watch others float to earth, so spend some time on at our picnic tables and keep an eye on the sky. You can also bring your lunch and enjoy it in our covered pavillion.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. A full range of motion is preferable. Shorts and a tshirt are OK for a hot day, but bring long pants and a long sleeved shirt or a sweatshirt without a hood. It is a little cooler at 10,000 feet, so come prepared. Wear sneakers or shoes that do not lace with hooks. Open-toed shoes and sandals are not permitted.

What if the weather is bad or turns bad after we get there?

Your safety is our primary concern. If the weather conditions do not allow skydiving, we will work with you to find an alternate jump date.

What if I can't jump when the time comes?

The Jump Master will make sure you are committed to skydiving before you leave the ground. If you change your mind while aloft, you can simply ride the plane back to the ground. No harm, no foul.

Can I bring my friends and family to watch?

Of course! This is an exicting sport and you will be taking a big "step", so bring people to see it all.

Can I skydive with a friend?

Yes, but there are a few limitations. The plane can take two tandem skydivers or one tandem with video. You may want to stagger your jumps with your friends so you can get pictures and video of their skydive.

Is it safe to skydive?

There are obvious and inherent risks in any sport and skydiving is no exception. You will be thoroughly trained by our experienced staff and will enjoy a safe ride back to earth. Our Jump Masters have thousands of jumps and are very experienced.

Can I rent equipment from you if I already have a valid skydiving certication/rating?

Yes, we rent equipment to experienced skydivers. Please see our price list for details and bring a valid certification ID with you.

What are the requirements to skydive?

You must be 18 years or older and weigh no more than 240 pounds. You must also be in good physical condition. You should consult with your physician, if appropriate.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up for a skydive and video by using our convenient online form. You can also call 866.258.7597 to schedule an appointment.
